Farm Kamille

Farm Kamille
팜카밀레

Farm Kamille is filled with exotic scents of herbs. Every corner of this farm, themed “gardening,” “ornament,” “application,” and “art,” provides insight into how to achieve coexistence between humans and nature.

Opened in May 2004 as a herb garden on the hilly districts of Taean, Chungcheongnam-do, Farm Kamille is well known as a wellness themed park visited annually by around 100,000 people. If you follow a path in the herb garden on this wide, 39,000㎡-area of land, you will come across a herb shop, cafe, restaurant, zoo, and pet playground. You will never get bored at Farm Kamille, and you will enjoy a variety of activities in every corner.

10 Unique Gardens with Different Scents

Visitors are encouraged to look around the 10 different gardens built in a big oval shape. It takes about an hour to finish the tour. The path between two different gardens is considered the best photo spot. Take great pictures that will last a lifetime. “Le Petit Prince Garden” pursues natural beauty coming from the harmony among its fountain, statue, and flowers. Plants and flowers at Farm Kamille show off their beauty in different ways depending on the season. In “Rose Garden,” you will see 60 different types of roses planted in each step of the stone-edged stairs. The blooming season is from June to right before the first snow, although it may vary depending on the rose variety. As its name suggests, “Cake Garden” looks like a piece of cake filled with colorful flowers from spring to autumn. In “Lavender Garden,” on the most beautiful hill of Farm Kamille, you will find herbs such as thyme and lavender, which is also known as Mary’s Drying Plant. “Kitchen Garden” is designed to grow herbs used in cooking and provide a gardening class to serve the purpose of Farm Kamille as an educational farm. “Chamomile & Sage Garden” is fully covered with chamomile, a major ingredient in herbal tea and beauty wash in spring, and with eye-catching purple sage in autumn. “Event Garden” is where different exciting flower festivals—tulips in spring, sunflowers and sparkles in summer, and chrysanthemums in autumn—are held depending on the season. “Romantic Garden” is known particularly for its aesthetic quality as it creates a pattern from Medieval Europe with plants. “Wetland Botanical Garden,” consisting of three ecoponds, is a must-visit place where you can find a variety of wetland, aquatic, and waterside plants. It is also home to aquatic insects, fish, and frogs. You can even see birds land to drink water peacefully. “Animal Garden” is located behind the Wetland Botanical Garden where you can observe and feed donkeys, rabbits, goats, mini-pigs, and turkeys.

A Diversity of Activities Using Herbs

Farm Kamille provides a wide range of activities. In the outdoor spaces you can participate in gardening, while in the indoor workshop you can take a class. You can choose from multiple options: preparing herbal tea and cooking with herbs, making herbal soaps, extracting beauty water and oil, pressing flowers, and wood crafting. Inside the cafe, you can enjoy bread with a cup of coffee, buy various herb products, and also try aroma therapy, foot bath, and ear candling. A free cup of herbal tea will be provided to those who sign up for any of these programs. Candles directly imported from Germany are highly effective in relaxing and purifying your body and soul. Ear candling is an alternative treatment where a hollow tube is placed in your ear and heated from the outside. It is designed to help remove toxins from your body. You can also recover from fatigue as ear candling takes place in a sauna made with retinispora and red clay.

Staying over at Farm Kamille

You can spend a night at "Le Petit Prince," a pension (lodging facility) within the farm. It consists of 10 rooms that can cater from 2 to 8 persons. The rooms on the second floor are particularly popular as they offer great views of the garden. In summer, you will see beautiful hydrangeas bloom around the pension. While at the nearby Mongsanpo Beach, a five-minute drive from the pension, you can try various mudflat activities.
