Resort Spa Valley

Resort Spa Valley
Resort 스파밸리

Resort Spa Valley is known for its special water. All the water used is drinkable hexagonal water. Hexagonal water is hot spring water with the chemical structure of a hexagonal ring and is known to be good for the skin and helpful in preventing adult diseases. Many people visit regularly because they saw improvement in their symptoms by just playing in the water.

Spa Valley is not just a place to bathe. Apart from hot spring water baths and spas, it offers various indoor and outdoor facilities. For example, on the 26m slide that is said to take three seconds from start to finish, the sound of joyous screams never stop. There is also an artificial wave pool and a relaxing 250-meter-long flowing stream. What stands out is the open-air bath in the middle of various amusement facilities. It classifies five different constitutions (fire, water, tree, gold, and soil) by birth year, month and day and offers a healthy bathing experience for every visitor. What an outstanding thing to find out about one's physical constitution type and then take a bath in a healthy water composition that fits one's body

There are exciting bathing facilities. inside too. In the “Fun Fun Zone” on the first floor there is a pool for children and a massage system bathing pool, a spa, and a hot spring sauna. In the traditional Korean medicine zone on the third floor, visitors can enjoy a “Traditional Korean Medicine Aromatherapy” and a bathing pool that uses special medical herbs as well as an open-air bath. The aroma therapy room is accessible by a white pebble path and is filled with the scent of medicinal herbs. The scent that boosts energy and revives one's condition, attracts not only locals but also many foreign visitors.

Forest and garden where butterflies fly and peacocks go for a walk

If Spa Valley is a healing space that uses hot spring water, neighboring Nature Park is a relaxation space in the form of a zoo and botanical garden. When you pass the ticket booth and climb the hill you'll find a greenhouse. Inside are growing 100-year-old Indian lilies, banana trees, thick olive trees, rubber trees and other plants that grow in tropical forests, which took over a year to transport. In the greenhouse on the first floor butterflies flutter between flowers and trees. Outside, the path turns into a flower garden where seasonal flowers guide the way. Turkeys bring their young out for a walk, colorful hens wander about, and male peacocks who set up their fan-like tail feathers to impress the females roam around freely.

Past a small lake where visitors can kayak and up another hill appears the Hotel de forRe. It is a neat place that is perfect to spend a night in the midst of wonderful mother nature. Independent villa-type rooms and row house-type rooms are furnished with cypress trees and refined with yellow bricks for a healthy and comfortable atmosphere.

Resort Spa Valley's hot spring bathing advice

  • □ Appropriate bathing times are 10 min. for the hot water bath and 15 min. for the warm water bath.
  • □ Minimal use of soap and drying without a towel so that the water components can enter the body are advised.
  • □ When bathing in hot spring water, we suggest not to scrub or irritate the skin.

An Exhilarating Time Travel to 100 Years Ago
Modern Culture Alley

The street preserves modern western architecture built more than a century ago. Cheongna Hill, located at one end of the alley, is a popular dating spot because it was the setting for the love story of Park Tae-joon (aka Travis Jones Park), composer of the famous song “Dongmu Saenggak (In Memory of a Friend).“ This is also a historical place where the Garden of Mercy, a burial site of foreign missionary workers, is located. Ninety stairs down stands Kyesan Catholic Church, one of the three major Catholic churches in Korea. Behind the church is the House of Yi Sang-hwa, a nationalist poet who wrote “Does Spring Come to the Deprived Land?” Way down the alley is the First Presbyterian Church with its beautiful spire and Yangnyeong Market Alley, which is filled with the smell of oriental medicine.   2029, Dalgubeol-daero, Jung-gu, Daegu / +82-53-661-2624 / www.jung.daegu.kr

Enjoy Views of Nakdonggang River from Old Tavern
Samunjin Quay

Samunjin at the Nakdonggang riverside used to be a large quay during the Joseon Dynasty where merchant ships came and went. With the development of land routes, the quay lost its purpose, but the area was restored in 2013. Under the shade of a 500-year-old hackberry tree, the Jumakchon Village, consisting of several small, thatched houses, sells beef and rice soup, noodles in broth, garlic chive pancakes, and makgeolli (rice wine). The Hwawon Park next to the village has an impressive piano monument, which commemorates the first piano that arrived in Korea through Samunjin in the 1900s. A short stroll along the riverside trail will take you to a ferry dock.   42-1, Samunjin-ro 1-gil, Hwawon-eup, Dalseong-gun, Daegu / +82-53-659-4465 / www.dssiseol.or.kr
